Switchblade Progress Report: October 23, 2013

The torsion bar front suspension has been assembled and integrated with the steering, brake and wheel for the front assembly. With some minor tweaks it will be ready for mounting in the ground test vehicle shortly. The weight of the torsion bar system was much higher than spec’d, so we will be testing for function first, then if it works as promised, we will take weight out of the design and build final units.

The rear suspension is being fabricated and should be to our hangar by the end of this week.

The tail was made to allow multiple variations of incidence and position for the moveable control surfaces. Below are pictures of the tail being cut out of aluminum.
